Tori Chenier

Although not born in Grande Prairie, Tori is proud of the city she grew up in and is excited to return and begin her law career after ten years away pursuing her education. Tori studied law in both Canada and the United States through Windsor and Detroit’s Dual Juris Doctor program. In 2026, Tori graduated with a Canadian Juris Doctor from the University of Windsor Faculty of Law and graduated cum laude from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law with an American Juris Doctor. Showing an interest in crime and law from a young age, Tori’s mother predicted she would be a lawyer, a police officer, or maybe even some sort of smooth criminal; but Tori always knew her path would lead her to become a lawyer. After being away for too long, Tori felt the urge to return to Grande Prairie to be with her family and begin serving her home community.

Before law, Tori’s passion was hockey, and it became an integrated part of Tori’s academic journey. After playing hockey with the Peace Country Storm, Tori moved to Olds, Alberta to pursue college hockey. Tori completed diplomas in Sports Management and Business Management while playing three years with the Olds College Broncos. Still feeling the hockey itch, Tori then moved to Windsor, Ontario to play one season for the University of Windsor. She believes organized sports, especially hockey, helped create the strong work ethic and discipline that allowed her to pursue her legal aspirations.

In her free time, Tori likes to build Lego sets, spend time with her family, play softball with her brother and sister in-law, and get on the nerves of her niece and nephews.
