Brittany Underwood

What are your credentials?

4.5 years as a corporate legal assistant, with CORES Level 3 Accreditation and APPRES accreditation.

Where are you from?

Grande Prairie – born and raised.

Early bird or night owl?

Early bird, but more of a permanently exhausted pigeon thanks to my 7-year-old daughter.

What’s the worst hairstyle you’ve ever had?

The thick straight-across cut with bowl bangs when I was 5 to 7.

How would you describe the way you dance?

I guess that depends. I am classically trained and took ballet, tap, and jazz until I was 18 years old — but now it’s just erratic.

Would you rather never be able to use emojis again or never be able to spell correctly again?

Never use emojis. I prefer proper grammar and punctuation far too much.

When was the last time you did something impulsive and lived to regret it?

I have not regretted anything I have done in life thus far. Everything is a learning experience.

If you could eat only one type of food for a year — breakfast, lunch, and dinner — what would you choose?

Authentic Mexican.

How long do you think you’d survive in a zombie apocalypse?

I am not sure that I would. I’m good at hide and seek, but otherwise, I am too loud and would be found fast.

How do you hang toilet paper: over or under?

OVER.

What’s your biggest accomplishment?

Being able to walk away and knowing when enough was enough — and that I and my daughter deserved better.

What has been most influential in your life so far?

My mother and my grandmother.

What are you most proud of?

I am most proud of my daughter. She is the sunshine in all the cloudy days.

What’s the greatest challenge you overcame?

Being a single mom for 3.5 out of the almost 8 years that I have been a parent.

Best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

You are only responsible for how you react and cannot control how others feel or think.

What are you really terrible at?

I am terrible at art. I’m not a good drawer, painter, or sculptor. I took a pottery throwing class once and while everyone else had about 10 pieces to take home… I had 5.

What show are you most likely to binge-watch, or movie you’ll re-watch?

Mrs. Doubtfire.

The Great Outdoors, or The Great Home Theatre?

Great Outdoors.

What’s the best book you’ve read recently? What’s the best book you’ve ever read?

Best book I’ve read recently – Wicked.
One of my favorite books I’ve ever read – The Great Gatsby.

If you could go to dinner with any person, living, dead, or fictional, who would it be?

My grandmother. She passed away 10 years ago and was my best friend, and to just be able to see her again would be such a gift.
